Is there a superintendent who couldn’t use an extra hand around the golf course? How about four extra legs to chase away geese and other unwelcome wildlife?
All GCSAA members are invited to enter to win a working dog (valued at $6,500) from Flyaway Geese, a North Carolina-based company that provides fully trained border collies for effective and humane wildlife control on golf courses, farms, university campuses, private estates and other properties.
To enter, submit a video that details the animal nuisance at your facility and makes the case for why you need an energetic, committed canine more than any other course. Find the submission form, submission instructions and more details on the contest page of the Flyaway Geese website.
Fun, creative videos are encouraged, and the deadline for submissions is Dec. 15. Finalists will be announced prior to the 2019 Golf Industry Show in San Diego. Voting will be held and a winner announced during the trade show, Feb. 6-7.
Flyaway Geese will also be conducting golf course dog demos live on the trade show floor at booth No. 1239. Stop by to chat with Flyaway Geese owner and operator Rebecca Gibson — who will be offering tips and tricks to help you get more out of your golf course working dog — and to put your agility skills to the test by competing with the border collies.
