- Syngenta announced new sales and technical team member appointments across its golf, lawn care and aquatics businesses. These appointments include Lisa Beirn, Ph.D., as a turf technical sales representative,
Tommy Hewitt as territory manager for the Atlanta, Birmingham and Chattanooga turf markets, Madelyn Tappan as territory manager for the coastal southeast markets, Matt Drayton as territory manager for Virginia, Tennessee and western North Carolina,
Chris Marra as turf territory manager in northern New Jersey, eastern New York and Vermont, Gina Zirkle as turf territory manager in Ohio and Wykle Greene, Ph.D. as the lawn care territory manager for central Florida.
Wednesday, November 16
- The United States Golf Association (USGA) announced Trinity Forest Golf Club, in Dallas, Texas, as the host site for the 2025 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship and the 2031 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship. Scheduled for July
21-26, 2025, the 77th U.S. Junior Amateur will be the club’s first USGA championship.
Monday, November 21
- The National Turfgrass Evaluation Program (NTEP) is extremely pleased to announce that the first recipient of the NTEP Distinguished Award is Dr. Scott Ebdon, Professor of Turfgrass Science, University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Dr. Ebdon received the award at the Crop Science of America annual conference in Baltimore, MD, November 9, 2022.
- Golf course superintendents in the Carolinas maintain their appetite for high quality education. They filled more than 1,300 seminar seats at the Carolinas Golf Course Superintendents Association’s annual Conference and Trade Show in Myrtle Beach, SC, which ran from November 14 to 16. The final tally of 1,356 participants in education seminars, presented in partnership with Syngenta, was just 10 seats shy of the all-time high set in 2019.
