The 2019 Rounds 4 Research online auction will kick off Monday, April 29, with more than 1,000 rounds of golf (each round includes two or four players) available at courses in 45 states and Costa Rica. The auction will remain open through Sunday, May 5.
Rounds 4 Research is a venture of the Environmental Institute for Golf (EIFG), the philanthropic organization of GCSAA. It is presented in partnership with The Toro Co., with media promotion provided by Golf Channel, Golf Advisor and GolfNow. Funds generated by the auction support the research-related activities of GCSAA and its affiliated chapters.
Since its launch in 2012, Rounds 4 Research has raised more than $1 million for turfgrass research, education and advocacy programs. The 2018 auction generated more than $312,000. Funds raised by the EIFG also help support GCSAA’s national research program.
Some of the high-profile facilities that have donated rounds for the 2019 auction include Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Ore., East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, and Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head Island, S.C.
“We are grateful to the facilities and golf management companies that have contributed to the 2019 Rounds 4 Research auction,” says GCSAA CEO Rhett Evans. “Rounds 4 Research offers golfers a chance to play a round at a notable golf course or a local favorite while funding turfgrass research that supports the future of the game.”
Several golf course management companies have also joined the effort to support research through donating rounds, among them American Golf, Billy Casper Golf, ClubCorp, CourseCo, Founders Group International, Marriott Golf, the PGA Tour’s TPC Network, and Troon Golf.
