Ismael Herruzo Delgado wins Royal Spanish Golf Federation scholarship

The Michigan State University student will receive $24,000 to study turfgrass management.

Ismael Herruzo Delgado, who is studying for a master’s degree in turfgrass management at Michigan State University, has been named the recipient of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation scholarship. He will receive $24,000 total — $12,000 in fall 2018 and $12,000 in fall 2019. The award is funded by the Royal Spanish Golf Federation and administered by the Environmental Institute for Golf, the philanthropic organization of GCSAA.

Founded in 1932, the Royal Spanish Golf Federation created the two-year scholarship program to fund the education of individuals from Spain who are pursuing turfgrass management degrees at Michigan State University.

Delgado is a USGA Green Section member and was involved in several championships in 2017 and 2018, including the Spanish Open-Ladies European Tour, the Spanish Men’s Professional Championship and the Spain Open-European Tour. Delgado currently resides in Michigan, and as part of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation scholarship, he will attend the 2019 Golf Industry Show in San Diego.
