Marc E. Weston, certified golf course superintendent (CGCS) at Indian Hill Country Club in Newington, Conn., and Steven J. Hammon, CGCS at Traverse City (Mich.) Country Club., have been appointed to the board of trustees for the GCSAA Foundation, the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA).

Weston is a 27-year GCSAA member and also serves as secretary treasurer of the GCSAA Board of Directors. Hammon is a 36-year GCSAA member and is a director on the GCSAA Board.
“Marc and Steve will help the GCSAA Foundation advance our mission,” said T.A. Barker, CGCS, GCSAA and GCSAA Foundation president. “They both bring the experience and knowledge that will aid in our ability to strengthen the advocacy, education and research that advances the work of golf course management professionals.”

The GCSAA Foundation secures funding and support to strengthen advocacy, education, and research that advances the work of golf course management professionals. It was founded in 1955 as the Scholarship & Research Fund for GCSAA.
The board of trustees is composed of four GCSAA directors and one representative each from the USGA, PGA Tour and PGA of America. The trustees are responsible for advancement, policies, and general review of the mission and goals of the organization.
The current board also includes Paul L. Carter, CGCS (GCSAA vice president); John Easterbrook (PGA of America); Emily Palmer (USGA) and Paul Vermeulen (PGA Tour).
