- PBI-Gordon Corporation announced that Jared Hoyle, Ph.D., has joined the company as the Marketing Manager for the professional turf and ornamental market. Hoyle is responsible for the development and execution of strategic marketing plans to grow PBI-Gordon’s professional product portfolio, which encompasses the professional lawncare and golf course management industries.

- Landscapes Golf Management is the first golf course management company to participate in the new Certified Partner Program with Greenlight Advisors, the developer of GolfClubBenchmarks.com, to augment interpretation of data and comparison to key benchmarks for the municipal courses it operates. The partnership empowers Landscapes Golf Management to further identify and analyze areas of its courses’ businesses which are thriving and those which may lend themselves to adjustments in strategies.

- The Carolinas GCSA announced they will award researchers close to $300,000 in grants for new projects to further enhance the game’s economic and environmental sustainability. Money to fund the grants was raised in the annual Rounds 4 Research online auction where golfers buy tee times donated by golf facilities. Since creating the auction in 2008, the Carolinas GCSA has now funded more than $850,000 in turfgrass research at Clemson and North Carolina State universities.
- The Carolinas GCSA announced that Pinehurst’s Bob Farren, CGCS will receive this year’s Distinguished Service Award from the association. Farren learned the news in a surprise announcement in front of more than 200 golf industry colleagues at the Southeast Region Conference at Pinehurst Resort this week. The Distinguished Service Award is the highest honor bestowed by the 1,850-member Carolinas GCSA and will be presented at the association’s annual Conference and Trade Show in Myrtle Beach, SC in November.

In this dual capacity, Lund will remain dedicated to his ATS customers, ensuring that agronomic solutions remain a priority while expanding his reach to help turf professionals in the Northeast experience Steel Green’s innovative spreader/sprayers firsthand.

With advanced features and real-time insights, the app aims to streamline decision-making, optimize resource use, and help managers meet the highest standards of quality, according to the company.

- Nufarm announced California EPA registration of Velocity PM Poa Management Herbicide, which is now approved for use on California golf courses. Velocity PM is specifically developed and formulated to help golf courses gradually and selectively remove postemergence annual bluegrass (Poa annua) and roughstalk bluegrass (Poa trivialis), while also reducing Poa annua seedhead production and suppressing dollar spot.
