Tuesday, May 14

  • Audubon International reported a 30 percent increase in registrations for its 8th annual BioBlitz competition. From May 18 through June 17, golf courses across the U.S. and Canada will compete to see who can identify the largest number of species of flora and fauna thriving along their fairways. Audubon International will announce the winners later this summer.

Friday, May 10

  • The Bernhard Academy announced the expansion of its leadership team, with the appointment of Phil Helmn as full-time Program Leader – Agronomy, Leadership, and Management. Helmn’s new position will see him take control of delivery of all Bernhard Academy courses and workshops relating to Agronomy, Leadership, and Management subjects.

Wednesday, May 1

  • The EXCEL Leadership Program, presented by Nufarm and the GCSAA, held its spring session in Raleigh and Pinehurst, NC. Nineteen rising golf course leaders convened April 15-17 for management and leadership training. Applications for the next EXCEL Leadership Program class run through Friday, May 31.
